About CarmenDeViboral.com: the guide and who writes it
Who makes CarmenDeViboral.com, how we gather facts on ceramics, the Melcocho and El Carmen's hotels, and how the guide is paid for.

CarmenDeViboral.com covers what sets this eastern Antioquia town apart: its ceramics workshops, the Melcocho River canyon and the rural veredas, plus the hotels to stay in. It is made by Julián Durango.
Sources we use
For ceramics we rely on the Culture Institute, the Tourism Office and the designation of origin registered with the SIC; for festivals and Melcocho access, on regional media such as MiOriente, and since those rules change, we date them. Hotel data comes from Booking.com and the property's own site, with the date checked. With so few hotels in town, we point out when a score rests on only a few reviews.
How it is paid for
With the commission Booking.com pays when someone books through a link in the guide, at no extra cost to you. No hotel pays to be listed. It is all in the affiliate disclosure.
Who writes it
Julián Durango Gallego is an SEO consultant with more than 10 years in the field, based in Sabaneta, in the Medellín metro area. From there, El Carmen de Viboral is a little over an hour away through the Oriente tunnel or the Las Palmas road, which makes eastern Antioquia his easiest weekend escape. His day job is checking data and sources, and this guide works the same way: if an opening time or a price could not be confirmed, we say so. More about him at juliandurango.com.
